Lagos Assembly moves to re-introduce TESCOM

The Lagos State House of Assembly on Tuesday said that its move to reintroduce the Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) in the state was borne out of the need to further strengthen the education sector.

The Speaker of the House, Mr Mudashiru Obasa, disclosed this at a stakeholders’ meeting on a `Bill for a Law to Provide for the Establishment of the Lagos State Teaching Service Commission for the Control and Management of the Teaching Service Matters and for Connected Purposes`.

Head of top boarding school threatens to expel pupils in relationships

The headmaster of a leading British boarding school has threatened to expel pupils if they have romantic relationships.

Toby Belfield, head of Ruthin School in north Wales, also said student romances would affect any university references.

In a leaked email to students in their final three years, seen by Sky News, he wrote: “Last year I expelled two students for sexual contact, in school.

“Relationships can start at university – not at Ruthin School.

“I STRONGLY disapprove of any boyfriend/girlfriend relationships – and it will ALWAYS affect any university reference I write… I will put together a list of any student with a boyfriend or girlfriend

Student sues UNIABUJA, seeks N100m damages


Image result for uniabujaA legal practitioner and civil rights activist, Anthony Ejumejowo, has dragged the University of Abuja to a Federal Capital Territory High Court, over the delay in the supervision of his Master’s degree in Law project by a lecturer in the institution, Dr Lawrence Chukwu.

Ejumejowo said the absence and unavailability of the supervisor did not only stall the progress of his research work, but it also delayed the conclusion of his academic work over 14 months since the conclusion of the 2015/16 academic session.
